RHG offers an innovative flexible option for homeschooling families to maximize the number and type of classes a student is able to take, allow for families to choose which core classes they desire to teach at home or have students take elsewhere, and to also choose to have some or all of their core classes funded if desired.
Our Flex middle school program consists of classes which are both core and elective and both academic and enrichment based.
Academic classes are designed to prepare students for high-quality high school classes whether at RHG or elsewhere. These classes begin to challenge students with more outside work than our elementary classes, along with occasional quizzes and tests.
Enrichment classes are designed to expose students to a variety of fun, engaging classes or further develop talent and skill. These classes will have a varying amount of homework which is listed in the Course Description for each class.
Enrolling in a minimum of 4 RHG classes per semester is required for middle school whether students are Flex or part-time. Funding of up to 6 class hours is available through Oxford Virtual Academy.
Our Flex upper elementary program (grades 3-5) consists of classes which are both core and elective and both academic and enrichment based.
Academic classes are designed to prepare students for middle school level classes whether at RHG or elsewhere. Some classes may have occasional quizzes and tests.
Enrichment classes are designed to expose students to a variety of fun, engaging classes.
Enrolling in a minimum of 4 RHG classes per semester is required for upper Elementary whether students are Flex or part-time.
Our 1st-2nd grade Flex program consists of a 5 hour class block from 9:00 AM to 2:25 PM with the same classmates traveling to different classrooms with different teachers from 10 AM to 2:25 PM. All 1st-2nd grade students have their Core Language Arts class at 9:00 AM.
Each semester will contain all new material for the students. As most content is identical on Wednesday and Friday over both semesters, it is not possible for a student to enroll in both days.
Early elementary Flex students will have Elementary Language Arts and Outdoor Hour as Core classes. These students may also choose RHG Online Math U See as a Core class and/or OVA online Core classes if desired.
Elementary classes are exploratory in nature and designed to engage & delight students.
Our Kindergarten program is offered on Wednesdays or Fridays and consists of a 5 hour class block (9:00 AM to 2:25 PM).
Space is limited each day in order to provide students with an optimal learning and social experience. Being open to attending either day will give your student the best chance of being able to enroll.
Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age and fully toilet trained by September 1st of the year of enrollment.
